I just saw a posting with a link that led me here. I am so sorry to hear of Bessie’s passing. I met her at Casawasco during a lay speakers class. Saw her again at another set of classes. Always loved her smile and sense of humor. God bless.

My name is Bonnie McGee Dunn and I had the great privilege of teaching both Bessie and Dan in third grade.
Bessie contacted me a year ago because she found a letter that I had written to her parents over 40 years ago. I had thanked her father for a gift he had given to my students and also wrote what a joy it was to have Bessie in my class. Both her parents were such lovely, joy-filled people - and the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Bessie was such a sweet, kind, loving, thoughtful, smart, fun, and funny child. She was an absolute delight and such a pleasure to teach! Her loving spirit, as well as her parents' and her brother's, definitely taught me many lessons as well. They taught me the importance of family and how simple acts of kindness have such a profound affect on our world. Bessie was truly beautiful, inside and out, and she clearly lived a life of service to others. I was devastated to hear of her passing and offer my deepest condolences to her family.

I first knew Bessie when she was a young teenager and it was a joy to continue our relationship and watch her grow and mature and become a mother and later a grandmother. She was always kind and caring. I will miss seeing her sweet smile and send my condolences to Dan and his family, and Joshua, Jennifer and Jordan and their families. Love and peace.

Bessie, I can not believe this. I met you when you came to preschool to put in hours needed for your Early Childhood Education degree. Mrs. Dolph and I loved having you. Then I had the honor of having your own kids in my class. Rest In Peace Bessie. Your smile and laughter will be remembered always. Prayers for your family and friends.

Bessie served her community as the Homeless Coordinator and I worked closely with her. She was practical, but always looked for the good in people. Bessie was dedicated to her family, her customers, and Winnie the Pooh. I loved her mischievous smile! She will be missed by many.
