I am saddened to hear of the passing of my Fulton St. School Kindergarten teacher-"Miss Klock". Although it was the '54-'55 school year and her first year teaching, I have many good kindergarten memories. Naps, snacks, and lots of play time were a key part of the program. I also remember Miss Klock's wonderful playing the piano....I smile as I remember that being placed behind the piano was a time out spot..Harry Van Vleet and I spent more than a few moments there..
I was privileged to reconnect with this wonderful lady through Facebook and had a great telephone conversation with her in the spring. She remembered me after those many years !
I spent my entire adult life as an educator...as a teacher and then as an elementary principal. The kindness extended to me during my first year of schooling by Miss Klock stayed with me and helped me to help many other teachers replicate such a great experience for children.
Prayers, condolences, and blessings to the entire Connell family.
