Obituary of Robert Patrick Collins

Mr. Robert Patrick Collins, 93, of Auburn, N.Y. passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at the Huntington Center, Waterloo, N.Y.

An Oswego native, he was the son of John and Helen Collins. He was a graduate of Oswego High School. He married Mary Shay Collins on Dec. 30, 1950. Mary passed away earlier on July 21, 2017.

A resident of Auburn since 1968, he retired from the Marine Midland Bank as credit manager in 1986. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved to play golf. He was most proud of his hole in one on Oct. 13, 1999 at the Westvale Country Club. A sixty-six year member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a past Grand Knight of Auburn from 1979 to 1980. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Auburn.

The family thanks the staff of the Huntington Living Center for the excellent care they gave to Bob the past three months.

Surviving are his children Robert M. Collins (Deborah), Lewiston, Maine; Maureen A. Collins, Auburn, NY; Kevin P. Collins (Pamela), Westport, Conn. and Snowmass, Colo.; Mary Ann Van Auken, Syracuse NY; grandchildren Brendan (Farrah) Collins, Boston, MA, Devin (Amanda) Collins, Longmont, Colo., Kylie Collins (Matt Galvez), Snowmass, Colorado, Meghan Van Auken, Syracuse, NY, Molly Collins, New York, NY and great grandson Brandon; sisters Shirley Pagliaro and Barbara Collins and several nieces and nephews.

 He was pre-deceased by his parents, grandchildren Ian Collins and Katelynn Collins, brothers J. Morgan and John Collins and his sister M. Rita Collins.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, family services were held. Entombment was in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Auburn NY.
