Obituary of Robert L. Davia

Mr. Robert L. Davia, 85, The Village at Auburn Grove # 215, 138 Standart Avenue Auburn NY passed away Monday surrounded by his family at home. A native of Auburn, the son of Alfred & Margaret Vail Davia. He was a Korean War Army veteran, a retired NY State Corrections Officer from Auburn, and had been employed at one time in sales at Rondina Furniture. A lifelong devoted fan of the New York Yankees, he was an avid golfer and member of Highland Golf & Country Club, a member of the American Legion, and former member and President of the Cayuga/Aurelius Senior Citizens. Along with his wife Patricia L. Davia, they had reside in Bellingham, Mass for six years, returning to Auburn in 2015. Surviving are his wife Patricia Light Davia, Auburn their children;Susan Rowillier, (Wayne) East Syracuse NY,Robert Davia (Katherine) Auburn, NY ,John Davia (Janine) Bellingham, MS.; Grandchildren, Krista Simpson,Katherine Holtz (John), Mark Davia (Holly), Jacquelynn Newman (Tom), Michael Bond, Ryan Davia, Ellen Davia; Great Grandchildren Justus & Britney Davia , Natalie Simpson, Jack Holtz, Connor, Cayden & Collin Davia, Hailey Newman and Layna Bond One brother David Davia (Bernice) Auburn, several nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held Friday March 25, 2016 at 2 pm in Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc 84 South St Auburn NY with the Reverend Matthew P. Binkewtcz, M.A, C.T.;, Chaplin of Hospice of the Finger Lakes, officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
