Obituary of Margaret Mae DeChick
Mrs. Margaret Mae DeChick, 73, of 14 Richardson Ave., Auburn, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at home.
Mrs. DeChick was born in Auburn, the daughter of Donald and Irene Sedar Brennan. She was a longtime volunteer with March of Dimes and a member of St. Mary’s Church. Mrs. DeChick was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1962, and was the Snowball Queen that same year. She had retired from the Cayuga County Probation Department.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William J. DeChick; her son, Kenneth M. DeChick, of Auburn; her daughter, Danielle M. Rupli (Andrew), of Fairfax, Va.; three grandchildren, Jase W. DeChick, of Auburn, Sophia and Kristopher Rupli, of Fairfax, Va.; two sisters and a brother, Ann Taylor (Jerry) and Barbara Dragone (George), both of Auburn, and Michael Brennan (Maggie), of Mesa, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Kimberly.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 in St. Mary’s Church, Auburn.
