Obituary of Elaine Brazee

Mrs. Elaine Brazee, 94, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Finger Lakes Center for Living in Auburn. She was a former resident of South Seward Avenue in Auburn. A native of Blossburg, PA, she was the daughter of William and Agnes Ames Overton. She was a graduate of Hornell High School with the Class of 1942. She and her late husband, Hugh, relocated to Auburn in 1953. A member of the United Church of Auburn, Elaine always enjoyed teaching knitting at Schwartz Towers and gardening. She was a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary in Hornell. Her surviving children are: James (Olga) Brazee, Auburn; Greg (Ann) Brazee, Auburn; Michael (Lynn) Brazee, Fairport; Jeffrey (Tima) Brazee, Weedsport; Scott (Donna) Brazee, Auburn; Mark (Debbie) Brazee, Schenectady; and Michelle Brazee, New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Rosemary Clifford of Hornell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband, parents, her son Ronald, brothers William and Orrie Overton and sister Phyllis Mattey. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. Dr. Leroy Kettinger officiating. Interment will be in Soule Cemetery, Sennett. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc. Memorials may be remembered to the charity of one's choice. Her family wishes to acknowledge the fine care, compassion and dignity their mom received while a resident at the center.
