Obituary of Linda Anne Rooker
Linda A. Rooker, 70, retired Professor of Health & Physical Education at Cayuga Community College, a lifelong Auburnian passed away Monday December 5, 2016 surrounded by her family.
A daughter of the Carl H. & Dorothy M. Rhodes Ayers Rooker. Linda was a graduate of Auburn High School, Auburn/Cayuga Community College, S.U.N.Y. Brockport & Syracuse University, and later earning her Ph. D. From Syracuse University. She had recently retired with over forty years of teaching at Cayuga Community College.
A devoted member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Linda also gave her time to volnteer at Freedom Camp, CANUS Games, Easter Seals, area food banks, and area clothing drives especially for children. She enjoyed traveling, especially to her family retreat in Southern Vermont, which was built by her Great Grandfather.
Surviving are her sister Barbara J. Moore, Auburn; Nieces, Beth Anne Rabuano, Auburn

Many friends from First Presbyterian Church and Cayuga Community College, especially Steve Yaple, Colleen Nickerson and Bonnie Davis; a beloved dog and companion “Babe.”
A Memorial Service will be held Friday December 9, 2016 at 11 am in First Presbyterian Church, Auburn. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc 84 South St Auburn NY.
The omission of flowers is recommended, with memorials going to either First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of the Finger Lakes.
