Elizabeth "Betty" Westmiller Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Westmiller, 92, a lifelong resident of Auburn passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Auburn Community Hospital.


The daughter of David H. and Irene (Rumpf) Burns. A graduate of Auburn Central High School, she had retired from Auburn Memorial Hospital as a Unit Secretary and previously was employed at Dunn & McCarthy as a Payroll Clerk. A lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Church, and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Alphonsus Church.


She was married to James G. Westmiller on Jan. 24, 1952, who passed away on December 19, 2016.


Surviving are their children all of Auburn: David J. Westmiller, Lawrence P. Westmiller (Margaret), Donald J. Westmiller (Delia), Robert L. Westmiller (Beth), Paul S. Westmiller (Cynthia), Carol A. Quill (Timothy) and Diane M. Stechuchak (John); 19 grandchildren: John and David Westmiller, Krista Jimenez, Timothy, Elizabeth, Christopher Quill and Stephanie Lehman, Donald Westmiller, Cheri Wakeham, Suzanne Westmiller, Michael, and Jonathan Westmiller, Tiffany, Steven, Maeghan, and Sabrina Westmiller, Jeffrey, Kevin, and Ryan Stechuchak; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elaine Westmiller of Weedsport; great neighbors, and many devoted friends.


Betty was predeceased by her husband, parents, a brother, Louis and wife, Julia Rumpf, and a brother-in law, Archie Westmiller.


A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church with the Reverend Louis Vasile as Celebrant. Internment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.


Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, NY.


Memorial contributions may be given to either St. Alphonsus Food Pantry, Matthew House or the Ward O'Hara Agricultural and Country Living Museum.
