AUBURN - Donald Quinn, 89 passed away at home Monday, Sept 23, 2024.
A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, a lifelong Auburn area resident, Don retired as a City of Auburn Policeman, in 1988 with twenty five years of service. He continued working as a Truck Driver with the Empire Agri Systems of Auburn, covering nine states. Also, he enjoyed carpentry work for the Kennedy brothers, Tom and Bob with their projects.
A member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 207, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Hofbrau crew. In earlier years he enjoyed boating and camping on Cayuga Lake.
Surviving are his wife, of 58 years, Donna (Clark) Quinn; their sons: Thomas (Patty) Quinn, Auburn, Dennis (Mary) Quinn, Auburn, Richard "Bert" Quinn, Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren: Jenna Powers, Jared Quinn, Lauren Quinn, Lindsey Quinn (Dan), Haili Brisbin (Pat) Austin, Quinn; great-grandchildren: Jack, Zayn, Blakely; many nieces, nephews and cousins. brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sarah Clark.
He was predeceased by a son, Timothy, his parents, William and Mary Carter Quinn, siblings: William, Mildred, Paul, Richard, Lucille and Eleanor.
On Friday, September 27, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Rd., Auburn, NY calling hours will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Michael Brown as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Memorials may be remembered to either Sacred Heart Church or the City of Auburn Police Benevolent Fund.
