Obituary of Karen (Everett) Dunne
Karen (Everett) Dunne, 67, of Owasco, NY, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on December 28, 1956, she was the daughter of Betty Everett and the late Robert Everett.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Dunne, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. She was a loving mother to her four children: Nicole Dunne, Patrick Dunne, Margaret Happ (nee Dunne), and Elizabeth Dunne; and cherished her role as a grandmother to: Gram, Griffin, and Lillian. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she was the heart and soul of every gathering.
Throughout their 40 years together, Karen was not just John's partner but his anchor in life. Karen was the fierce strength that held their family together through times of joy and challenge. Her presence brought a sense of stability and warmth to John's world, reminding him of the love and laughter that fill life's chapters. As John often said, Karen had an innate ability to find beauty in the smallest moments, whether it was during a quiet evening at their home in Owasco or through the boundless joy she shared with their children and grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
Karen Everett Dunne was a graduate of Ithaca College, where she cultivated a lifelong passion for learning. She was an active member of the Owasco community, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support of those around her.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, she is survived by her mother, Betty Everett; her sister, Liz Manville; and her two brothers: Robert and Thomas Everett. Her family will always remember her generous spirit, strength, and the profound love she shared with them.
