Obituary of Dolores E. Delaney
Dolores E. Delaney, "Rose", 88, of Auburn, NY, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024 surrounded by her devoted family.
Survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Delaney; and children: Karen (Rick) McIlveen of Fairport, NY, Roberta Delaney of Auburn, NY, Mary Beth (Tom) Weaver of Auburn, NY and Suzanne (Michael) Subtelny of Auburn, NY; brother, Gerald (Kate) Wilczek of Wake Forest, NC; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Virginia and Patricia.
Dolores cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her biggest joy and greatest accomplishment. Her happiness came from cooking for the family, baking, scrapbooking, sewing, shopping, and grabbing a quick sandwich with her husband. Dolores could always be found smiling, laughing, singing and dancing around the house.
"Mom, we love you past the moon, and miss you beyond the stars. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God took you home."
Calling hours will be held at St. Hyacinth's Church on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Christian Mass at 11:15 a.m. A private burial will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
