William J. Jones, 81, Auburn NY, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

William was the son of William and Harriette (Vagge) Jones. He was a graduate of Union Springs Central School in 1960 While in high school he played sports including basketball and baseball.

He served in United States Navy and was stationed in the Philippines and Panama. Later serving in the Naval Reserves.

Returning from the Navy, he began a career with Goulds Pumps, Seneca Falls. He retired as a Time Studies Engineer.

Bill's favorite pastime was fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Pineau) Jones, whom he married March 24, 1971; their children: Margaret/Rick Hutchison, William/Donna Jones, Amy/Kirk Heyde; grandchildren: Bryan Hutchinson, Sara/Jade Webb, Hannah Jones, Andrew Jones, Zachary Jones, Madeline Heyde, Nathan Heyde, Megan Heyde, Nicholas Heyde, William Heyde, Ava Heyde, Ella Heyde, Jacob Heyde, Mia Heyde, Joshua Hitchcock/Krysat; great-granddaughter, Arabella Webb; brother, Mike Jones; favorite pets: Daisy and Spike.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family, at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, NY with Rev Steven Karany officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
