Obituary of Ellen Kent

Ellen Kent, 67, passed away on October 31, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Hospital, Elmira, NY, after a brief illness Ellen was born in Auburn NY on October 21,1955 the daughter of Ralph and Helen Kenney Kent. She attended Auburn Schools when the family resided in Auburn, and graduated from Southern Cayuga School when the family resided in Poplar Ridge. A graduate of Auburn Community College ( now Cayuga Community) and SUNY Cortland with a B.S. degree in 1991. A lifelong learner, Ellen enjoyed reading and taking a variety of classes. Her great passion was collecting Milk Bottles. She started at at an early age with her Grandfathers Kent Dairy bottles, and continued to the time of her recent illness. She was a member of the Ithaca & Syracuse Bottle Clubs, and had booths at many Antique Shows, Flea Markets to market her inventory. A second and lifelong love was for Country Music. She was always on the go to concerts, especially Reba McEntire . There are many photos of Ellen back stage with the stars of country and western singers. Ellen had retired from the Cortland Marietta Company with twenty years of service. Surviving are many cousins, and a very loyal group of best friends, A Grave side Service will be held Wednesday November 9, 2022 at 1:30 pm at ST. Joseph’s Cemetery, Auburn NY with family friend David Ward from the Christ Church, Jordan NY officiating.
