Obituary of Avery E. Neagle, Jr.

Mr. Avery E. Neagle Jr., 76, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at Auburn Nursing Home. A lifelong resident, he was the son of Avery E. and Dora Walsh Neagle. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School, Auburn High School, and was a Marine Corps veteran. He had retired from Auburn Correctional Facility on August 5, 1995. Avery was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Auburn, and was predeceased by his wife, Helen Zimmerman Neagle. Surviving are their children, Brian A. Neagle and Tammy, of Auburn, Christopher A. Neagle and Allie, of Auburn, and Sean M. Neagle and Kirsten, of Auburn; grandchildren, Nicolette Neagle, of Rochester, Kimberly Neagle, of Rochester, Tyler Neagle, Connor Neagle, Kylie Dacey, Michael Neagle, Emma Neagle, Brandon Neagle, and Aiden Neagle; nephew, Joseph Mastrioanni, of Liverpool; brother-in-law, Robert Zimmerman, of Pennsylvania; several cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 in St Mary’s Church, Auburn, with the Rev. Frank J. Lioi, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church, prior to the funeral Mass.
