Obituary of Doris Stella Scullin

Mrs. Doris S. Oughterson Scullin, 91, formerly of 3 Charles St., Auburn, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at St. Luke’s Residential Center, Oswego, NY. An Auburn native, Doris was born on April 3, 1925, the daughter of Walter and Estalla Masters Drake. A graduate of Auburn Schools, she was associated with Balians Gift Shop, and the Owasco Yacht Club. She enjoyed playing tennis in earlier years, and Bridge. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Oughterson. Surviving is her husband, John “Jack” Scullin, of Oswego; four children, Richard Oughterson (Elaine), of Auburn, Scott Oughterson, of Auburn, Thomas Oughterson (Patty), of Oswego, and Lesley Hadden (Gary), of Auburn; four grandchildren, Tony (Kathy) Oughterson, Paige Fisher, Ashley (Billie) Hadden, and Chelsea Oughterson; three great-grandchildren, Alaina Oughterson, David Oughterson, and Brayden Juhl; seven step-children, Mary Ellen Nawm (Tom), J. Paul Scullin (Rosemary), Leo E. Scullin (Susan), Margaret M. Scullin, Michael F. Scullin, Caroline I. Scullin, and Sheilagh F. Torbitt (Jeff); 11 step grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. Patrick Heery, Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021.
