I just found these photos in my library of memories. These touched my heart since they showed the love that one woman had in her heart for my family and me. Take care guys!

Johnny, Joey, and Jim,
Hermanos is what you are to me and Mamita is what your mom was. Through the years volunteering at the Boyle center, an angel came into my life. As we got to know each other, there was a special friendship that we shared. She called me her "adopted" son and I called her my second mother. I truly loved her with all my heart! We shared many good times and celebrations of birthdays, holidays and other occasions. We had lunch 2-3 times a week and watched telenovelas or listened to Spanish music. She would accompany my wife and me to the nearby casinos since we all enjoyed playing the slots. She came to my house for a few holidays and my son loved her as his "abuelita" (Grandma). She was SO MUCH fun and FULL of life. I will never forget the sparkle in her eyes! She never complained about her lot in life even when she had to leave the Boyle Center for a nursing home. We had good times even at the nursing home when I would visit. She loved flowers, music and food!
Today she is dancing with the angels and I am so proud and privileged to have a second mom like she was to me. Not everyone gets that opportunity, and we are lucky if we even get one chance with a biological/adoptive parent. Guys, I feel so lucky to have spent some golden moments with her in her older age. I will NEVER forget her and she will forever remain in my heart!

We are both so saddened to hear that Haydee has passed away and will always remember her fantastic and fun loving personality and love for all of her Crystal Bay Park friends. She loved to dance and enjoyed any gathering that we had here at our clubhouse! The Hat Parade was one of her favorite activities. It has been quiet around here for the last few years when she was unable to join all down here for the winter months. We send our prayers and blessings to her family. Sue and Jack Rego

I have very fond memories of both of your parents, your dad with his cigar and your mom walking from the house down to Grant Ave, dressed smartly. She loved her Yimmy(Jim), she was a bright spot in a sometimes gray world. A lovely soul.

John, Joe, Jimmy & family...I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I met your Mom many years ago and she was just amazing...just as you've described her. She truly embodied the love of her culture and it was very naturally shared from her heart and being in all she did. I will be holding you in my heart and prayers as I have also, lost my Mom this year and understand the impact that has. What a blessing to have our Mom's with us for so long. Big Hugs and Lots of Love to You. Janice DeFonda

It is my honor to number Mrs. DeMaso’s sons among my long time friends.
Transplanted to Auburn, she raised three exceptional guys who revered her.
My sincere condolences,
David Rezak
