Hi Karen! We grew up together, just a couple of blocks apart on Lansing St. We spent a lot of time together on Lincoln playground, and I cannot think of a single cross word you ever had for me. We went to school together and graduated in the spectacular Class of 1977. I would see you from time to time over the years, and was surprised (as were you) when I arrived for a job interview at your ARC day-hab in 2011 after my NYSDOCS retirement. I think I saw you last downtown last year, and you were still as happy to see me as ever. You are one of only a few people that always had a smile for me, and I can't tell you how much that means. Rest easy, my lifetime friend.

Karen was a wonderful childhood friend and an exceptional athlete, and I'll never forget all the good times we shared at Lincoln playground and Holy Family school. If Karen was your friend, and she had many, you were a lucky person because she was true and loyal always. She was always full of fun!! I saw her recently after many years and she still made me smile, immediately calling me by my nickname. Love you Karen, you're a good kid and I know God will reward you for your many kindnesses to others here on this earth. Lots of love to a wonderful family, Mrs. Sarnicola, Sharon, Tricia, and Jamie Take good care....love you guys, NeeNee King Bennett
