Obituary of Daniel F. Scanlon, Jr.
Mr. Daniel Francis Scanlon, 85, of 14 Van Patten Street Auburn N Y passed away Saturday
May 14, 2016 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Dan was born in Auburn on April 9, 1931 a son of Daniel F. & Elizabeth Lenhart Scanlon, Sr. He was a 1950 graduate of Port Byron High School, a Unites States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War with eight years of service. He had retired from ALCO with thirty two years of employment and had previously been employed with the Dunn & McCarthy Shoe Company. Dan had also worked for four years at the Cayuga Community College Bookstore.
He loved to watch Yankee Baseball, all the Syracuse Basketball games and the NY Giants Football games. In earlier years he played Softball with the City Leagues, and was a former Boy Scout Leader of the Genesee School Pack 40.
He was a member of St. Francis Church and the American Legion. Surviving are his wife Linda Allen-Scanlon, whom he married on St. Patrick’s Day 2010. His children

He was Pre deceased by his first wife Marie Tripiciano Scanlon, brothers Harold and James
Scanlon and sister Laura Kolczynski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday May 18, 2016 in St. Franics Church, Clark St Auburn N.Y. with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7 -9 pm at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc 84 South St Auburn NY. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
