Obituary of Joan Marie Ryan

Joan Marie Ryan (Lipiska), 73, passed away early morning Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Auburn Community Hospital. She was the eldest daughter of George and Stella Brazak Lipiska. A graduate of Port Byron High School, she was a dedicated wife, mother, as she always made her family her priority. She raised three children, and was very proud of the fine adults they had become. She felt blessed that they maintained closeness with her and each other no matter the distance or circumstances. She was with her husband for 52 years, whom adored and called her best friend. She enjoyed a variety of things, including reading books from the library, learning new things, and watching her grandchildren grow into young adults. She was open minded, had a good sense of humor, enjoyed traveling, and was looking forward to spending the winters with her Daughter in Nevada. She retired from Port Byron Central Schools as an assistant cook. She is survived by her husband, Bernard, whom she married on September 19, 1963. Children;Kathleen (Kathie) (Dean) Ryan-Zettlemoyer of Seneca Falls, Bernie (Janise) Ryan of Port Byron, Maureen Ryan, of Henderson, Nevada, Grandchildren Corey and Allison Ryan Christian Ryan, Colin Zettlemoyer , Kevin Zettlemoyer; Sisters, Jeannie Kuhfta of Auburn, Susan Bertonica of Auburn;Brothers, Michael Lipiska , Waterloo, Thomas Lipiska of Auburn, David (Tammy) Lipiska of Weedsport, nieces and nephews. She will be missed more than words can express. She was pre deceased by her parents, a granddaughter Emily Ryan and sister June Caruana. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm Friday April 15, 2016 at 4 pm at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc 84 South St. Auburn NY with family cousin P.J. Ryan, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Weedsport NY A Memorial visitation will held Friday from 2 to 4 pm at Farrell’s Funeral Services. Memorials
