Obituary of Rita May Mills

AUBURN - Mrs. Rita May Mills, 90, of Auburn, passed away on Dec. 21, 2018 in The Common's On St. Anthony Street where she has been a resident for six years.

Mrs. Mills was born in Auburn on Nov. 6, 1928 the daughter of Benjamin and Mary O'Hora Laury. She had retired from Auburn Community Hospital where she was employed in housekeeping and as a nurses aid. In retirement she moved to Florida with her husband, Frederick H. Mills, where they enjoyed a wonderful 20 years before moving back to Auburn 10 years ago. Born a day apart they both recently celebrated their 90th birthdays and recently had their 70th wedding anniversary. She will fondly be remembered by her family as the best wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with family and friends.

Along with her husband she survived by their children, a son, Dennis Mills (Sue Coleman) of Cohoes, New York, three daughters, Debbie Osborne (John) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Donna Brazee (Scott) of Auburn, Susan Knapp (George) of Union Springs; ten grandchildren, Amber Brazee (Desi Melendez), Scott Brazee (Chelsea Wilczek), Eric Brazee (Tobiyah), George Knapp (Alyssa), Benjamin Knapp (Danielle), Dawn Jarolemon (Rick), Danielle Richardson (Nick), Dustin Mills (Cori), D.J. Mills (Angel), Darcy Mills and many cherished great grandchildren.


A memorial mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 in St. Mary's Church, 15 Clark St., Auburn.
