Obituary of Betty L. Grove

Mrs. Betty L. Grove, 87, of 6891 River Road, Cayuga, passed away Thursday evening, April 7, 2016, at Auburn Community Hospital. A native of Union Springs, Betty was born on February 23, 1929, and was a resident of the Auburn/Cayuga area. She was the daughter of Leward and Pearl Marion Brewer. A member of the Highland Golf Club, she always enjoyed her golf games. An avid reader, a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the American Legion and V.F.W, she had resided in Sunrise, Florida for several years. Her husband, Lindsay Grove, predeceased her in 1986. Surviving are their children: Gary F. (Martha) Grove, Sunrise Fla., Lori-Lin Shaffer, Cayuga; five stepchildren, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; a brother, Thomas Fields; sisters, Ann Appleton and Rose Kent. She was predeceased by her parents and husband; brothers, Barney, Harold and Bill Brewer, Walter Fields; sisters, Mary, Margaret and Esther. A memorial service will be held tomorrow, Monday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. Dr. Leroy Kettinger officiating. Interment will be in Soule Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department.
