Eugenia M. Iwanicki Obituary

Eugenia Mary Iwanicki (Kozlowski), 97, passed away on January 23, 2026 at Finger Lakes Center for Living with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Bernard S. Iwanicki, and her siblings Thadeous Kapitanski, Alexandra (Olga) Kulakowski, Helen Parker, and Casimer Kozlowski.

She is survived by her children, Ellen Chandler (Keith), Joanne Rice (Joseph), Audrey Iwanicki, Susan Calvino (John), James Iwanicki, Robert Iwanicki (Roxanne), and David Iwanicki (Kristin), as well as her 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Gena had a quick wit and a bright sense of humor. She loved to travel whenever and wherever she could. Although small in stature, she made her presence known. She enjoyed being pampered, but showed surprising strength in any crisis. Her love for her family was her foundation. Many stories exist of happy times spent at the home she cherished on Owasco Road.

Gena’s work career included Red Star Trucking, Stott & Davis Trucking, and Auburn Correctional Facility. She worked mainly as support staff, and also learned computer programming during her time at Stott & Davis.

A celebration of life will be held on June 20, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Church, 63 Pulaski Street, Auburn. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to the Owasco Volunteer Fire Department. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the staff on Interlaken at Finger Lakes Center for Living.

Arrangements are with Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., Auburn, NY.
