Gregory Madden Cameron, 73, a lifelong resident of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday.

Born to Douglas and Mary Madden Cameron, Greg was a graduate of Auburn Central High School and a retired employee of the City of Auburn. In 1978, he married Debra Kennedy, and together they recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past October.

Greg enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing, but his greatest passion was gardening. He took special pride in caring for the plants and grounds at Hoopes Park, as well as tending to his own flower garden at home. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his cherished granddaughter, Megan.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Debra Kennedy Cameron; his children, Amy Cameron Laderer (Benjamin), and Patrick G. Cameron; his beloved granddaughter, Megan Laderer; sisters-in-law Joan and Terri Lynn Cameron; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Terry and Doug Cameron.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 7, 2025, at 12:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Auburn. Interment will follow in Soule Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, prior to the Mass.
