Melody Lynn Sanchez (née Lariviere) of Auburn, New York, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025 at age 72, following a battle with cancer. Born on January 12, 1953 in Syracuse to Edwin and Marilyn Lariviere, she led an existence grounded in faith and family, remaining steadfast even in the face of lifelong illness and adversity.

She was a homemaker with a passion for baking, gardening, herbalism, crocheting, and books and movies about ghost stories. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Melody contributed a great deal of time and energy towards Biblical study and genealogical research. She was also actively involved in animal rescue, providing a loving home for several dogs.

Melody is survived by her children: Mandy of Ovid, Darien and Samantha of Solvay, Rebecca and Chris of Auburn, and Mikoláš of Auburn; grandchildren: Jarod, Janelle, Sebastian and Catalina; sisters Dolores and Marcelle; and various cousins, nephews, and nieces.

She will be remembered fondly for her down-to-earth, determined, and deeply compassionate nature.
