Obituary of Charles R. Flanigan

Charles R. Flanigan passed away on Sunday at the SUNY Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y. A lifelong Auburnian, the son of Clement and Anna Lavey Flanigan. He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, and retired from Goodyear Tire Company, Auburn. Charles loved his cars, and he was a member of the Cayuga County Antique Car Club. He loved watching NASCAR Races. A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Germany while in the service. Surviving are his wife, Deanna McCabe Flanigan, Auburn; children, Grace Lynn Jones (Mark) Sparta, Tenn., Charles Dustin Flanigan (Marleah) Canastota, N.Y.; grandchildren, Savannah and Alexis Jones, Heath and Hugo Flanigan; sister, Helen Flanigan, Auburn; brother, Raymond Flanigan, Auburn; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Joseph Flanigan; and a sister, Mary Flanigan. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11 a.m., in Fort Hill Cemetery with Reverend Tina Benoit officiating. The omission of flowers is requested with Memorials being remembered to First Presbyterian Church 112 South Street Auburn, NY 13021.
