James Reilley Obituary

James Reilley, 87, Auburn passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025 surrounded by family, at The Commons on St. Anthony.


He was born in Auburn on January 15, 1938 the son of Arthur and Florence O’Brien Reilley.

A native and life long Auburn resident, Jim was a US Army veteran proudly serving during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Auburn (Cayuga) Community College in Criminal Justice. He retired as a Lieutenant from New York State Corrections Department.


Surviving are his wife Pauline Coleman Reilley whom he married on August 21, 1965

their children: Timothy Reilley of Auburn, Kimberly (Barry) Marginean of Auburn and

James (Kelly) Reilley of San Diego Ca.


Grandchildren:

Timothy Reilley, Colin Reilley, Brandon Reilley, Michael Ward

Brittany Ward, Meghan Ward, Skylar Reilley, Kyra Reilley; A Great grand daughter Mayzie Ward; One brother Thomas Reilley of Houston TX ;several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Jim was pre de eased by brothers Raymond, John and William

and sisters Marion Lennox, Betty Welch, Joyce Morrissey and Florence English.



A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Clark Street Auburn on Monday March 24, 2025 at 1:15 pm , with Reverend Frank J. Lioi, Pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum with Full Military honors.


A calling hour will be held from 12 noon to 1 pm prior to mass at St. Mary’s Church


Memorials may be remembered to either the Knights of Columbus or the Aurelius Fire Department. His family would like to Thank the Nurses and Staff at The Commons and Crouse Hospital for the excellent care Jim received.
