Obituary of Alvin W. Anderson

Mr. Alvin W. Anderson Jr., 59, of 15 Dexter Ave., passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at home. A native and lifelong Auburn resident, he was well known for his music; especially his guitar playing following the inspiration of his musical hero, Jimi Hendrix. He was currently lead guitar player for the band Alibi. Alvin had recently retired from McQuay with 27 years of service when the plant relocated. He was a graduate of Auburn High School, and was the son of Alvin W. Anderson Sr. and Mary Gasparro Anderson. Surviving is his fiancée, Lori Chiccino, of Auburn; a sister, Jerry Hogan, of Auburn; his nephews that called him “Uncle Al, the kiddies pal,” Andy (Michelle) Hogan, of Auburn, Artie Hogan, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Shawn (Jennifer) Hogan, of Auburn; great-nieces and nephews, Michael (Mallory) Hogan, Mitchell Hogan, McKenzie Hogan, Phillip Zerrillo, Dillon (Michaela) Couturier, Devon Hogan, Skylar Hogan, and Jenna Hogan. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Art Hogan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. James Enright officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Farrell’s.
