Obituary of Sprague Wheeler

Mr. Sprague Wheeler, 90, of Auburn, and formerly of Scipio, passed away at the Commons on St. Anthony Street on Friday, March 4, 2016. He was a combat veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. He was a member of the Donald R. Ward Post 1259; American Legion, and VFW Post 1975. He was active in many endeavors in his lifetime, and always enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving is his wife, Marilyn S. Wheeler; children, Brad (Laurie) Wheeler, of Auburn, Robert (Rommy) Wheeler, of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Valerie Wheeler, of Cayuga; grandchildren, Eric (Carolyn) Wheeler, of Arlington, Texas, Melissa Wheeler, of Prince Frederick, Md., and Justin Wheeler, of Prince Frederick, Md.; great-grandchildren, Raygan and Riley BoBo, of Prince Frederick, Md.; a sister, Sybil Anderson, of Auburn; one nephew and two nieces. He was predeceased by two children, Alan Wheeler in 1998, and Anne Wheeler in 1965. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
